Sisters in STEM Canstructure 2026

About Sisters in STEM Canstructure 2026

The Canstructure competition is a creative design-and-build event focused on fighting hunger in our community. Organized by the Youth Volunteer Corps and hosted by VOiCEup Berks, teams across Berks County construct large structures entirely from donated canned goods. After the competition, all cans are donated to Helping Harvest, turning creativity into meaningful community impact.

This spring, our Sisters in STEM girls are participating in Canstructure in partnership with MG Architects, designing a build inspired by this year’s Animation theme. Guided by Jazmine Arzuaga, they are learning how ideas move from concept to construction while strengthening teamwork and problem-solving skills. We are working to secure 750 cans by March 6, and a gift of $25 will purchase an average of 20 cans toward that goal. Every contribution supports both their learning experience and Helping Harvest’s mission to address hunger in Berks County.
